Creating Sustainable Change
This program has laid the foundation for sustainable change by empowering individuals to become self-reliant and financially independent. This has further resulted in the creation of first-generation entrepreneurs, enabling consistent income generation and fostering financial independence.
Beyond individual transformation, the program has encouraged the creation of role models within these communities, inspiring others to pursue similar paths.
Our Impact Model
The aim is to create a virtuous cycle where skills translate into enterprises, enterprises scale into livelihoods, and livelihoods evolve into empowered communities. ArunaSocial Foundation’s impact model does more than enhance incomes—it lays the groundwork for enduring prosperity driven by women and youth who shape their own futures and those of the generations that follow.
Success Stories
These are just a few of the many inspiring journeys from our programs. Each story represents countless others who are breaking barriers and creating new opportunities through hands-on training and personal transformation.
Boby’s Journey of Empowerment: From Learner to Leader
Boby Dubey, a 40-year-old from Jharkhand, moved to Delhi in 2003 with her family in search of a better life. A 10th-grade pass, she later felt the urge to contribute financially. She enrolled in the BET Fashion Designing course, learned tailoring, and soon started a home-based unit, earning Rs. 3,000 to 5,000 per month. Not stopping there, Boby began training five others at home, turning her passion into purpose. Her journey from homemaker to self-reliant entrepreneur and mentor showcases the power of the Business and Entrepreneurship Training (BET) in transforming lives and communities.
From Shyness to Self-Reliance: Rabiya’s Inspiring Path
Rabiya, a 19-year-old from Bihar, grew up in a conservative family of 16, where stepping out or working was discouraged. A BA second-year student, she struggled with shyness and lacked confidence. Things changed when she enrolled in the Basic Skills Training (BST) course. The training helped her build communication skills, self-confidence, and a sense of independence. With her family’s support, she began working as a computer teacher in a school, earning Rs. 5,000 monthly. Today, Rabiya contributes to her family’s income and finances her own college education. Her story is a powerful example of how targeted skill development can transform lives and empower young women to break barriers.
Usha’s Illuminating Journey
Usha Krishnan, a middle-aged woman from Om Vihar, Uttam Nagar, New Delhi, stepped into the world of decorative candles with no prior business or marketing experience. Her transformation began at our Social Impact Centre, where she was trained in candle making, branding, and packaging. With support from the team, Usha launched her brand “USHES”, crafting beautifully packaged candles just in time for Diwali. Despite having no exposure to Delhi’s wholesale markets, she navigated them confidently to source packaging materials herself. From ideating a brand identity to designing her product presentation, Usha embraced entrepreneurship with passion and purpose. Her journey reflects the essence of our mission—to empower individuals to not just create products, but craft experiences.
Personal Growth Through Training – Vansh’s Journey
When Vansh Saxena joined the Basic Skills Training (BST) course at ArunaSocial Foundation, he was shy and barely spoke, even in Hindi. Struggling with confidence and communication, he stayed committed to improving. Over time, Vansh built strong computer and spoken English skills, becoming more articulate and supportive of his peers. His transformation extended beyond academics—he became more punctual, disciplined, and self-aware. From organizing his workspace to developing problem-solving abilities, Vansh embraced personal growth in every aspect of life. Today, he is a confident and responsible young man, embodying the impact of consistent effort and right guidance.
Stitching Hope – Savita’s Story
Savita, a resident of Om Vihar, West Delhi, lost her husband during the COVID-19 pandemic, leaving her a widow and sole caregiver with no income. Struggling with grief, she joined ArunaSocial Foundation’s Fashion Designing course under the BET program. Though tailoring techniques were challenging at first, Savita persevered. With her certification and a repaired sewing machine, she began stitching garments from home. Slowly, orders came in, and she started earning Rs. 1,000 to 2,000 monthly. More importantly, her confidence began to return. Savita’s story is a moving example of how resilience, supported by opportunity, can help rebuild lives—one stitch at a time.
From Learner to Entrepreneur – Priya’s Path
In the bustling lanes of Om Vihar, Priya dreamed of becoming financially independent. With a young daughter and a husband working as a medical supplier, she longed to contribute to the family. After enrolling in ArunaSocial Foundation’s Business and Entrepreneurship Training (BET) program for Fashion Designing, Priya learned to stitch garments and, more importantly, gained confidence. Despite balancing childcare and limited resources, she began her home-based tailoring business, earning Rs. 2,000 a month and reinvesting it to grow. With fabrics sourced from Chandni Chowk, she plans to expand her offerings and open a boutique. Priya’s journey is a story of quiet determination and bold dreams in the making.
Building the Foundation for a Brighter Tomorrow
Jyoti, a schoolgirl from Om Vihar in Uttam Nagar, New Delhi, was introduced to ArunaSocial Foundation by its community outreach team. Though full of dreams, she struggled with confidence and emotional control. Enrolling in the Basic Skills Training course proved life-changing. She gained computer and English communication skills, learned to manage anger, and developed greater self-discipline. Each session helped her become more confident, composed, and self-aware. Jyoti’s story reflects how early access to digital and life skills can empower young individuals to grow with purpose, resilience, and a clearer vision for their future.
Shivani’s Story – A Confident Teacher in the Making
Shivani, a bright young woman from Ram Chandar Enclave in West Delhi, aspired to become a teacher but lacked the confidence and skills to begin. With her father working as a security guard and her mother a homemaker, opportunities were limited—until she joined the Basic Skills Training (BST) course at ArunaSocial Foundation. There, she gained computer and spoken English skills, improved her presentation abilities, and learned valuable life lessons—from self-discipline to stress management. The course helped her think creatively, communicate effectively, and develop a sense of purpose. Today, Shivani stands more confident than ever, ready to pursue her dream of teaching. Her story shows how targeted training can turn potential into purpose.
